BASMANE ALTINPARK ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK AND SHELTER

The aim of Basmane Altınpark Archaeological Park and Shelter is to bring together the archaeological and urban potentials of the Basmane Archaeological Site, which will transform this area into a space of both archaeological research and social recreation. The Site is surrounded by historical buildings from various periods with residential and commercial functions. The ongoing excavations on site reveal Roman and Byzantine Period findings. To protect these findings against weather conditions such as wind, rain and snow and to open-up this area to public visits the excavated area is covered by a protective shelter.
